ESPN 150 defensive back Leon McQuay III (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) will visit Vanderbilt and Michigan during consecutive weeks in October, according to his father.
This weekend the 6-foot-2, 185-pound senior will take an unofficial visit to Florida State this weekend when the Seminoles host Clemson. He will follow up that trip with official visits to Vanderbilt on Oct. 13 and Michigan on Oct. 20.
"Those were trips we had penciled in for a while and now it looks like that's what is going to happen," said Leon McQuay Jr. "Leon is definitely looking forward to visiting both programs, as they have been at the top of his list for a while."
McQuay already took an unofficial visit to USC for Labor Day weekend. He may go to the west coast against later this year for an official visit to Oregon, but no dates have been set.
"We're going to take this trip to FSU this weekend and then the next two trips and evaluate everything after that," McQuay said. "It's possible that we'll go back to USC and Oregon and maybe FSU on officials, but nothing is set in stone right now."
The deciding factor for McQuay could be the right music program. The talented safety has a lifelong dream of being a music producer and has repeatedly said that the best music department will be factored into his decision just as much as football.
"This is a life decision for Leon and he's thinking about academics and life after football," McQuay said. "We are looking at everything."
