ESPN 300 running back A.J. Turman (Orlando, Fla./Boone) took an unofficial visit to Tennessee with his mother this weekend to watch the Vols take on the Florida Gators. The 6-foot 198-pound four-star athlete said he enjoyed his visit to Knoxville.
"It was a good visit," Turman said. "I got to see a lot of things that I hadn't seen before. Me and my mom had a good time. We liked the school and it was a good atmosphere. There were a lot of people there, it was a big crowd. It reminded me of the Alabama-LSU game from last year. There was a lot of support, they were screaming. It was real nice and a place I'd like to play at one day."
Despite Tennessee's disappointing 37-20 loss to Florida, Turman said he enjoyed the game and envisioned what it would be like to play in the Tennessee offense.
"It was a good game in the first half," Turman said. "The offense kind of went down in the second half but I think those guys have a good team this year. I think I could fit in real good. I don't really have anything bad to say about the running backs they have, but, I don't know -- I just think I could fit in well."
Though the four-star running back enjoyed his Tennessee visit, he says he has no leader at this point.
"They are still one of the schools I'm looking at along with FSU and Georgia," he said. "I'd like to come back and check it out again. I might go to the FSU-Clemson game this week and I'll probably come back to Tennessee for the Tennessee-Alabama game."
Turman says he has no timeframe on when he will make a decision.
