On the verge of school history
If Southern Miss can beat UAB tonight, it would mark just the third time in school history the Eagles would have 10 wins in a season. Southern Miss finishes its regular season against Memphis and would likely play the winner of Tulsa/Houston in the Conference USA championship game. The school has never posted an 11-win season and coach Larry Fedora knows the impact it could have with recruits.
“First of all, we have a chance to do something that's never been done before here at Southern Miss,” Fedora said. “I want us to continue to move forward and accomplish our goals. It will be huge for recruiting and that’s how we have built this thing, through recruiting. We are now in year four and seeing the fruits of our labor.”
