Class of 2014 defensive back Duke Dawson (Cross City, Fla./Dixie County) took a short trip to Gainesville to watch the Gators play Bowling Green, and the 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior came away from the visit impressed.
"I thought Florida played real well and I liked the atmosphere," Dawson said. "It's very loud in there and the people were solidly behind the Gators."
Dawson said he'll probably go back to Florida again at some point during the season and will also go to a game at FSU.
"Going up to Tallahassee is something I'll do this season," Dawson said. "Not sure when that's going to happen but that's the only other school I will probably go to a game to see this season."
Dawson was unsure about the reports that he recently received new offers from Wisconsin and Iowa. Both Florida and Florida State had previously offered the rising prospect after he camped at both programs.
"I really just read about it online and I've never been contacted by either of those schools so I don't know," Dawson said. "If I happened, that's cool I guess."
