After a high-ankle sprain limited Peyton Barber (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) to only 363 yards on 69 carries, the 5-foot-10, 210-pound running back was determined to make up for lost time in his first game as a senior last Friday.
The four-star prospect did not disappoint. In a hard-fought 35-28 win over town rivals Alpharetta, Barber had 23 carries for 225 yards, two catches for four yards and a kickoff return for 23 yards. After the game, Barber admitted he felt he had something to prove.
"I feel like I was under the radar because of being hurt last year, so I want to show that I am one of the top running backs in the state," Barber said. "I think it was a pretty big win and we showed we could stick together."
