Four-star defensive back Sojourn Shelton (Plantation, Fla./Plantation) will take an official visit to Wisconsin this weekend with his father.
The 5-foot-9, 155-pound senior previously said that Wisconsin stood out as a favorite, but he doesn't expect to make a commitment on this trip.
"I don't plan on making a commitment; my goal is to at least take a couple of official visits first," Shelton said. "I committed early before with Florida State and that didn't work out, so I'm going to try to stay patient. No one is going to make up my mind for me."
Shelton has planned his second official visit, as he aims to visit Nebraska on Sept. 15 with his good friend Dionte Taylor (Davie, Fla./University School).
"Yes, D.J. and I are going to go to Nebraska together and check it out," Shelton said. "We're both looking at Nebraska, so we figured it would be smart to see it together and compare opinions on what we thought."
Shelton said he's trying to stay focused on his high school team. He wants to add to his role, because he's seeing little action on his side of the field.
"People don't throw it my way too often and there isn't much I can do about that," he said. "So I am working to get involved and make a difference in other ways."
Shelton said Wake Forest and Cincinnati also remain high on his list, while UCF has fallen out of his top group.
