ATLANTA -- Last fall, linebacker Jarrad Davis (Kingsland, Ga./Camden County) made plays all over the field for the Wildcats. A Region 3-AAAAA first-team selection, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound junior had 61 tackles, two sacks, three fumbles causes, two fumbles recovered and two passes deflected. He had similar results in the Rising Seniors Junior Bowl All-Star game, leading the East team with eight tackles.
After suffering a broken ankle in June, it was unknown if Davis would be back in time to showcase his speed for Saturday's season opener versus Peachtree Ridge, and even then, just how explosive he would be on the field. After an impressive performance Saturday night, Davis left no doubt he was back to 100 percent.
"It felt great to get back out there and hit people," Davis said. "I was really excited and kind of got overwhelmed with the game speed, but I caught back up and calmed down as the game went on. It is just one of the many things I have to continue to work on."
