Four-star defensive lineman De'Asian Richardson (Orange Park, Fla./Orange Park) will make a verbal commitment this weekend, Orange Park assistant coach Ryan Wolfe said.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound senior will choose between West Virginia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Missouri.
"He's probably going to make the decision sometime Sunday and we might wait until Monday morning to call the school and announce it at that time," said Wolfe.
Although Richardson hasn't seen any of the schools in his top five, he has been diligent in building relationships with the staffs and doing his research. His commitment this weekend should be considered 'soft' according to Wolfe. Richardson will still take all five official visits.
"He's going to make a choice and then re-evaluate things after the official visits," Wolfe said. "He wants to get recruiting out of the way so he can focus on playing hard as a senior and leading our team."
Richardson took unofficial visits to Auburn, Alabama, Florida State and Duke. He had committed to Florida State for several hours in late January but backed off when he got back to Orange Park.
