Five-star cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III (Tampa, Fla./Wharton) and ESPN 150 prospects Travis Johnson (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit) and Alvin Bailey (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) are among the players scheduled to appear at John Kaleo's QB Academy Skills Camp on Friday.
The former Arena League quarterback will be joined by former NFL players Reidel Anthony, Yo Murphy, Casey Weldon and Todd Yoder for the instructional showcase.
The camp will feature several commits including Johnson and tight end Jeremy Kerr (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg), both heading to Miami and ESPN 300 wide receiver Richard Benjamin (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Bay Tech) and quarterback Pete DiNovo (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake), both committed to UCF.
"I'm pretty happy with the lineup we have here," said Kaleo. "It's a solid group of prospects, guys already committed to schools and underclassmen that are still trying to get their name on the map."
Class of 2014 quarterbacks Chase Litton (Tampa, Fla./Wharton) and Alex McGough (Tampa, Fla./Gaither) and class of 2014 tight end Vincent Jackson (Tampa, Fla./Jesuit) are among the top underclassmen scheduled to participate.
"It's a good chance to get in extra work and learn a little more about playing the position," said Jackson. "I'm trying to prove to people that I can bring a different dimension to the tight end position and this is where I can do it."
Other prospects like senior athlete Juwan Brown (Largo, Fla./Largo) might try to get reps at multiple positions.
"I'm playing quarterback for my high school but I'm being recruited as an athlete," Brown said. "So I will probably do some work with the wide receivers and maybe a little with the defensive backs too."
