Tyquan Lewis just wants some action.
"Offenses don't challenge me as much,” the junior defensive end from Tarboro (N.C.) High School said. “They find the weakness on the other side.”
Flip-flopping between defensive end positions has helped a bit but Lewis admits he gets bored from time to time.
“I feel like I'm doing great though, when the play is coming my way,” he said.
Then, there's the opportunity to rush the passer, a moment that Lewis relishes.
“You've got to make them feel it,” the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder said.
Colleges have taken note. Lewis has scholarship offers from Clemson, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and East Carolina. He's also hearing from Maryland, North Carolina State and Auburn among others.
In order, Lewis cited playing time, a good education and the opportunity to prepare himself for the NFL as things he's looking for in a college.
