It appears like the third time will be the charm for ESPN 300 defensive back Adrian Baker (Hollywood, Fla./Chaminade-Madonna).
Just hours after the 6-foot-2, 165-pound senior appeared to be on the outs with Florida State, both Baker and the program decided to reconcile and his commitment was accepted.
"It was a huge misunderstanding," Baker said via text message. "I'm now officially committed. This is a huge weight off of my shoulders and truly a blessing."
It is the third time Baker was in a position to commit to FSU. He was expected to commit to the school May 16 but he received an offer from Oklahoma that made him reconsider.
After camping at FSU in June, he wanted to make a decision on July 1 but when he offered his commitment the program informed him they weren't ready to accept it.
However, much like the wind, recruiting changes by the hour and as of Tuesday evening Baker is the 15th commitment in FSU's recruiting class of 2013.
"Coach [Jimbo] Fisher called me and apologized about the misunderstanding and told me they wanted me at FSU," Baker said. "That was all I needed to hear."
Baker had entertained offers from Oklahoma and Clemson as well and recently camped at Ohio State but was never extended an offer.
