After returning from a trip to Clemson with teammate Jay Woods, defensive end Justin Akins (Jackson, Ga./Jackson) committed to Georgia Tech on Thursday over offers from Clemson, Duke, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, N.C. State, South Florida and UCF.
"Thanks to all the schools that offered me a scholarship to come play football. I'am very blessed and thankful but I have made my decision to become a Yellow Jacket and commit to Georgia Tech," Akins posted on his Facebook.
Akins is the 10th commitment for Georgia Tech in the 2013 class. Cornerback John Marvin (Fort Walton Beach, Fla./Fort Walton Beach) also committed to play for Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech on Thursday.
