The decision to commit to East Carolina came easy for Devaris Brunson.
"Everything they had to offer me," the outside linebacker from Lake City (S.C.) told ESPN via text message Tuesday, "ECU is a good fit for me."
Brunson believes good times could be ahead for the Pirates, who play in Conference USA. When asked why he made his decision now, he stated, "Because I made up my mind, and plus a year from now they're [poised] to move into the ACC."
Collins also had a scholarship from North Carolina State among others. The Pirates now have six commitments for the 2013 class.
