Auburndale (Fla.) athlete Derwin James made waves when he committed to Florida State in late January during their Junior Day. Since then the 6-foot-1, 185-pound rising sophomore has gone through another spring practice and was competing with his team at the 7-on-7U Florida shootout in Plant City on Saturday.
James says he's still firmly committed to FSU and is looking forward to heading back to the campus in July.
"I will be camping there all three days in July," James said. "I'm probably going to be working out with the safeties so I'll have a good chance to work with coach [Stoops]."
