Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas quarterback John O'Korn committed to Houston on an unofficial visit Friday, choosing the Cougars over offers from South Florida, UCF and North Carolina.
O'Korn, who became the ninth commitment for Houston, recently camped at FSU and hoped to receive an offer from the Seminoles but Houston put on a final push that proved to be the difference.
"I was very interested in FSU but they weren't sure if they were going to offer a quarterback in this class and they were waiting for Jameis Winston to decide on whether he was going to play football or baseball," O'Korn said. "Meanwhile Houston had made me their top priority and I wanted to go somewhere that I was wanted."
