North Miami (Fla.) defensive back Troy McCollum spent two days at Florida State last week and could participate in South Florida's SuperBull showcase this weekend.
The 6-foot, 185-pound junior worked out last Thursday at FSU and hung around Friday to take extra time on his visit.
"I enjoyed working out with the coaches, especially coach [Mark] Stoops because he taught me a lot," McCollum said. "I like FSU and I'm hoping to get an offer still. Every time I go to an event I'm working to get an offer if the school hadn't offered me yet."
McCollum has more than a dozen offers and five schools are standing out.
"I would say Florida International, Ole Miss, South Florida, UCF and Illinois are all recruiting me the hardest," McCollum said. "If Florida State were to offer me they would probably shoot to the top."
As for now, McCollum will move on.
"I want to get back to USF for one of their camps over the weekend and I want to go back to FIU again," McCollum said. "I want to check out all of my top schools again before making a decision."
