Cincinnati has an affinity for quarterbacks from the state of Florida. The Bearcats snagged their third quarterback from the state in the last two recruiting cycles when they received a verbal commitment from Orlando (Fla.) Boone quarterback Alton Meeks last weekend.
Cincinnati signed Florida quarterback prospects Bennie Coney (Plant City/Plant City) and Trenton Norvell (Daytona Beach/Seabreeze) in the Class of 2012. Despite the depth chart, Meeks will be ready when his number is called.
"I know I'm going to redshirt as a freshman and be ready to compete for a role after my redshirt season," Meeks said. "There will always be competition and good players at your position so when that time comes, let the best man win."
