Class of 2013 offensive lineman Denver Kirkland (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington) is coming off of a strong 2011 season and now the 6-foot-4, 300-pound tackle is reaping the benefits.
Rutgers was the first offer for Kirkland almost a year ago but the Scarlet Knights have gotten plenty of company recently, including Florida State.
"Yes Florida State offered me not too long ago, me and a couple of teammates," Kirkland said. "I've talked to Coach [James] Coley and I like the staff and the program there.
