Artimas Samuel (Columbus, Ga./Carver) is standout tight end prospect from the Peach State that just committed to Mississippi State. Samuel, 6-foot-2 and 242 pounds, made his official visit there over this weekend.
“I loved it,” Samuel said. “The atmosphere is wonderful and all the kids are like family. They stick together. Most importantly they want to win. I will go to Mississippi State and learn all I can, progress as a player and help them win. I can’t wait and am very excited about this decision.”
Samuel is a unique talent that should fit in very well into Dan Mullen’s offense in Starkville.
“First of all he’s a great guy,” Samuel said. “They will use me a lot in different ways. I will split out wide, play tight end, running back and full back. They plan on using me a bunch of different ways. My goal is just to compete to get on field. I am not a one dimensional player. I can block, run in the open field, and have good hands.”
First though Samuel will attend Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia this season.
“I will enroll at Mississippi State in January,” Samuel said. “They have been with me the whole time through thick and think. They were incredible through the whole process.”
Samuel had 25 receptions and scored six touchdowns this past season. He’s the No. 78 receiver in the nation and the No. 61 rated recruit from the state of Georgia.
