Pensacola Catholic defensive end Luke Adams gave his verbal commitment to UCF over the weekend. The 6-3, 235-pounder becomes the school's fifth commit of the season.
"I visited there over the summer and really liked everything that had to offer," Adams said. "I love the coaches and the players and the facilities. Everything is new there. I feel like it's the place for me as a student and as a college football player.
"The campus is amazing and it's just a very nice place to be. Everything is updated and there's a lot to do in the city of Orlando."
Adams has jumped into the role that former Pensacola Catholic standout D.J. Pettway held last season. Pettway signed with Alabama last year.
Adams had an offer from Memphis and was rising on several recruiting boards before committing to the Knights.
"USF never officially offered me but they were interested," Adams said. "Memphis offered but I wasn't really sold on Memphis. Duke still talks to me quite a bit."
Despite whatever new schools pop up Adams says UCF has nothing to worry about because he's solid.
"I gave that school and the coaches my word and I believe that you keep your word," Adams added.
