Ja’Quay Williams (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek), an Auburn commit, will visit two of the Tigers rivals over the next two weekends.
“Ja’Quay will go to Georgia this weekend and Florida the next weekend,” said Chip Walker, Sandy Creek’s coach.
It will still take a lot to pry away this Williams from Auburn. Gene Chizik has not named an offensive coordinator to date and there are strong indications the Tigers will go to more of a pro-style system, which is something Williams likes.
“I think his [official] visit to Auburn really helped with the questions he had,” Walker said. “I think he’s pretty solid.”
Williams, 6-foot-3 and 195-pounds, played his first and only season with Sandy Creek this past fall. Walker saw the great potential that this four-star recruit has.
“He got better all the time,” Walker said. “I saw it from the first day to the last. He progressively got better. He may have had one bad game. He made big catches and big plays for us. He was terrific on special teams and he blocked his butt off. He’s a heck of a young man with a very bright future. His best football is in front on him.”
Williams is the nation’s No. 22 ranked receiver and the No. 14 rated player from the state of Georgia.
