ESPNU 150 defensive end Leonard Williams (Daytona Beach, Fla./Mainland) took his official visit to Florida State this weekend and left with a new outlook on his recruitment.
Going into the visit, Williams had Auburn and Florida at the top of his list. Now he says there are no favorites.
"I don't think it's right to list a favorite right now," Williams said. "I loved my visit at Florida State and I was really impressed with the coaches and how much the coaches and players interacted.
"I spent a lot of time with Coach [D.J.] Eliot and we talked about things on and off the field. I felt a good chemistry with him as well as Coach [Jimbo] Fisher."
Williams, who played in the Under Armour All-America Game, is going to wait until signing day to make a decision.
"I thought I wanted to decide early but I wanted to take all five official visits first," Williams added. "Now I'm sure that was the right idea."
Florida State already has commitments from three ESPNU 150 defensive ends -- Mario Edwards Jr. (Denton, Texas/Ryan), Chris Casher (Mobile, Ala./Davidson) and Dante Fowler Jr. (St. Petersburg, Fla./Lakewood), but Williams is confident that FSU would have a plan for him as well.
"They talked about how much they want to rotate the defensive ends, and where I would fit in those rotations," Williams said. "Coach Fisher made it clear about what he wants and expects from the players and how much he wants to me to be part of the program."
Next up for Williams is an official visit to USC. He is also planning on an official visit to Miami on Jan. 27.
