College of Canyons (Santa Clara, Calif.) offensive lineman Will Latu did not qualify academically to enroll in Auburn last week and will take an additional semester at the California junior college while taking other visits.
"It was my fault and it's disappointing," Latu, a former starter at Gibbs (St. Petersburg, Fla.) H.S., said. "The situation with Auburn is one to where I can't graduate until July and enroll in August."
Latu explains that other schools would allow him to graduate in May and enroll in June. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound tackle has already scheduled some trips.
"I think I'm going to FSU on the 20th and probably Oklahoma on the 27th," Latu added.
Latu originally committed to West Virginia before switching to Auburn. If he takes the trips to FSU and Oklahoma he will have one official visit remaining.
