Even in today’s era there are sleeper prospects in football recruiting. That’s the case for Georgia Tech newest commitment, Anthony Autry (Norcross, Ga./Norcross), who made an official visit to Georgia Tech this weekend. Paul Johnson and the Yellow Jackets offered him a scholarship and Autry accepted.

“I think it’s great opportunity for Anthony,” Norcross coach Keith Maloof said. “Anthony did everything right his senior year. Coming into this season he had no offers. He played safety and wide receiver for us and was named the Defensive Back of the Year by the Gwinnett (county) coaches. He got rewarded for having an outstanding senior year and that’s so great to see.”

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Autry recorded 53 tackles and five interceptions. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns. Offensively, he caught 20 passes for 515 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
