Daveonn Porter is in no hurry to end his recruitment.
With more colleges calling lately, that seems to be the prudent approach. Porter, who played tailback for Clarksdale (Miss.) Coahoma, said he was leaning toward signing with Louisiana-Lafayette before other schools started showing interest.
Recent interest from Arkansas, Kentucky, Memphis and Oregon has clouded Porter's recruitment. Therefore, he said he won't likely sign his scholarship papers on Wednesday, which is the first day junior college prospects can sign with four-year schools. Porter said he'll likely wait until after Christmas and could take an official visit before enrolling at his chosen school in January. Porter has two years of eligibility remaining.
