Four-star running back Fred Coppet (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) admits that he was stunned by the dismissal of Boston College head coach Frank Spaziani and thought he deserved more time.
“I was definitely surprised because they had a real young team this year and I thought they had their good moments down the stretch,” Coppet said. “I understand it’s a tough business and everyone wants to win, but he was playing a lot of freshmen and getting them quality experience.”
Coppet said he remains interested in Boston College and adds that Vanderbilt, Indiana and South Florida have all picked up the pace in their recruitment of him.
