Watch List QB Gillins picks Texas Tech

2014 Watch List quarterback D.J. Gillins (Jacksonville, Fla./Eagles View) verbally committed to Texas Tech on Tuesday evening. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound signal-caller chose the Red Raiders over offers from North Carolina, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and FIU.
Gillins announced his decision via Twitter -- "@BlessedWhereIAm: I HAVE VERBALLY COMMITED TO TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY #RedRaider #WRECK EM"
As a sophomore at Eagles View, Gillins threw for an impressive 2,667 yards and 31 touchdowns with only seven interceptions. He also added another 177 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the ground.
Gillins joins wide receiver prospect Jakari Dillard as Texas Tech's other 2014 verbal commitment.
