Dekota Jones visit to Purdue was all he was hoping for. So much so that the athlete prospect from Louisville (Ky.) St. Xavier sees a possible dual role for the Boilermakers.
"It was good," the junior said. "Their defense and offense didn't do that bad. I will keep in touch with them…I feel I could help on both sides of the ball."
Purdue lost to Penn State 34-9. That didn't bother Jones. He saw opportunity in Purdue.
"I really loved the visit up to Purdue," Jones said. "They lost but they played hard. I could really see myself playing for them."
Jones is still awaiting his first scholarship offer. If the Boilermakers decide to be the school that extends that initial invite, they'll be in good shape with the 5-foot-9, 183-pound prospect.
"After tonight they're my number one choice if I get offered," Jones said.
Jones has also received interest from Ball State.
