With several programs in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties playing games it will be a case of wait-and-see on Thursday night, as Miami hosts Virginia Tech in a game which could decide the ACC Coastal Division.
With Miami Christopher Columbus on a bye there’s a good chance the running back tandem of Daryl Chestnut and Lorenzo Woodley will be in the house Thursday. Woodley said Miami has been reaching out to him more in recent weeks. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior doesn’t have an offer but does like the hometown school.
“I like Miami because they are the home team,” Woodley said. “But they have some backs committed in this class so we’ll see.”
Class of 2014 athlete Treon Harris (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington) said he’ll be in the recruits section of the crowd on Thursday night and most likely will be going there with fellow rising junior Nigel Patten.
“I saw Miami play Florida State and I want to see them again,” Harris said. “I just want to see how the offense adjusts from the last game.”
Another top class of 2014 prospect, defensive back Marquese Dudley-Gordon (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) is also listed as a potential unofficial visitor along with senior cornerback Boaz Nathan, who recently took an official visit to Purdue.
Depending on how Miami’s quarterback situation clears itself during the offseason the Hurricanes could be looking for an arm in the class of 2014 which is why Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna signal-caller Sean White might be at Sun Life Stadium along with highly regarded defensive tackle Khairi Clark.
