NCF On The Trail: The Opening 2014

Duke now has the ability to sell a winning program and new facilities to recruits, and prospects like what they're seeing. Plus, the nation's top 2016 quarterback was slated to be at Florida State for the Notre Dame game, but he wasn't able to make it and now is looking for a return date.

The Opening is in the books and was the final event we will use for analysis prior to prospects' senior seasons. Performances at the event will also affect the final ESPN 300 update before football season begins. With more than 160 prospects in attendance, it would be impossible to address each one, but there are some superlatives from The Opening to hand out.

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Opening presented by Nike Football took place July 7-10 at Nike World Headquarters, with 162 of the nation's top high school football prospects competing. With four days of dynamic training, coaching and competition, The Opening was the perfect chance for recruits in the Class of 2015 to make big jumps and shine on the national stage.

As expected, a number of prospects stood out among the best of the best. Here are the five recruits who helped their stock the most during The Opening.

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Pac-12 programs hold commitments from 13 prospects who participated in Nike's The Opening this week, including four quarterbacks who finished in the final Elite 11 quarterback ranking and two offensive linemen who were named to the Final Five on that side of the ball. Though the conference will undoubtedly finish with commitments from many more of the recruits in attendance, we take a look at how the 13 commitments fared over the four days.
