NCF On The Trail: Opening recruit announcement

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Three-star safety Trey Marshall (Lake City, Fla./Columbia), after running a blazing 4.34 40-yard-dash at the SPARQ national championship on Monday, said he will make his final decision on Wednesday between Ole Miss and Florida State.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.-- ESPN 300 wide receiver Artavis Scott (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) is closing in on his college decision. The four-star athlete will make his selection this week among Florida, Clemson and UCF.

Scott talked about each of his favorite schools.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- At one point in his recruitment, athlete Jaleel Wadood (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) was committed to Arizona State. Now the Sun Devils find themselves outside of his top three, only days before the four-star prospect makes his commitment announcement at The Opening.

Wadood has narrowed his list to UCLA, USC and Cal over offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah, Vanderbilt and Washington among others.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- Seven prospects are set to commit at The Opening in Oregon, and that includes cornerback Arrion Springs (San Antonio/Theodore Roosevelt). The No. 44-ranked prospect in the country will make his decision between Oregon and Texas on Tuesday, but he said his mind still isn't 100 percent made up.

"It's a little blurry still," he said. "I have an idea of what I want to do, but it's still a little blurry."

It might not be crystal clear because the 6-foot, 191-pound corner was just on Texas' campus Saturday. Springs and his mom made the trip and he was the only recruit on campus. The visit was spent with the Texas' coaching staff, which laid out a specific plan if he were to choose the Longhorns.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- Defensive back Naijiel Hale (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) is set to make his commitment early this week at The Opening. The three-star prospect is one of at least seven prospects set to commit at the elite event and has narrowed his list down to three.
