Florida State doesn't typically leave the Southeast for a running back. But Mikel Horton (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) is an apparent exception.

News travels fast in the Twitter age, even when it comes to college football scholarship offers as junior running back Mikel Horton (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) found out Monday.

Horton first found out about his offer when he saw a tweet from Mike Dyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer that read Indiana offered the 6-foot-1, 228-pound back.

"All my friends told me and I said I hadn't heard, so I looked it up and my coach told Mike Dyer and he posted in his blog I got an offer," Horton said.

Scott has offers from all three of his top choices and has narrowed things down to Florida State, Ohio State and South Carolina.

Mikel Horton (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) is no stranger to The Horseshoe. The 2014 running back was at Ohio Stadium once again to take in the Buckeyes’ game against California.

“It was a great experience. The crowd was crazy, and (Ohio State) had a great game,” Horton said.

Horton has already been to Ohio State this season a few times, but he has not heard it as loud as when Devin Smith caught a long touchdown late to keep the Buckeyes among the ranks of the undefeated for at least one more week.

Thaddeus SnodgrassTom Hauck for ESPN.com2014 WR Thaddeus Snodgrass is among a handful of receivers slated to visit this weekend.
Call the Ohio State-Cal game the weekend of the wide receivers in term of unofficial visits.

Thaddeus Snodgrass (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) is hoping the third time is the charm as he was derailed the two previous weeks in terms of unofficial visits.

He has got company, however, as Dominique Booth (Indianapolis/Pike) and Zach Yousey (Columbus, Ohio/Harvest Preparatory) have plans to find their way to The Horseshoe.
