Under-the-radar three-star athlete Clyde Newton (Punta Gorda, Fla./Charlotte) committed Wednesday night to play for Indiana, according to multiple sources. He made an official visit to Bloomington, Ind., for the Hoosiers' 52-49 loss to Ohio State on Oct. 13.

“I just felt like they are coming together and working hard,” Newton told the Louisville Courier-Journal. “That’s the kind of player I am and the type of people I want to be around. I feel I can make a difference if I go up there.”

ESPN describes Newton as, "a tough competitor as a running back and outside linebacker; has the size and athleticism for both positions at the major level of competition ... will need some time and perhaps a redshirt year before competing for staring time at the BCS level of play."

When 2014 tailback Parris Campbell Jr. (Akron, Ohio/Saint Vincent-St. Mary's) arrived at Beaver Stadium for a summer football camp, he didn't expect to leave with such a longing to return.

But after touring the campus and chatting with the coaches, the longtime Ohio State fan said he could see himself donning the blue and white one day.

"I didn't expect to get as much out of it as I did," said the speedy Campbell, who currently holds no offers. "Just the way the coaches were going through drills and stuff, they seem like good motivators and good coaches -- that's what I got out of it.

Indiana lands its first four-star commitment with in-state pledge Antonio Allen (Indianapolis/Ben Davis), an aggressive ball hawk with great toughness. This is a big, good-looking safety prospect who passed up some more prominent schools to play for the in-state Hoosiers.

In Allen, Indiana is getting a safety with very good size, range and physicality needed to excel in zone schemes and support both the run and pass effectively. He might be more ready to contribute in the box versus the run and need some time to develop his coverage skills, particularly man-to-man, but this is a big-time closer and hitter.

The Indiana Hoosiers have dipped into Florida and secured a commitment from two-star running back Myles Graham (Hollywood, Fla./Chaminade Madonna).

"It was just a good fit for me," Graham told ESPN.com on Thursday. "I really like the coaching staff and I think it is a great school. I also felt like I could play right away there."

Other schools that made offers to Graham include Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio, Tulane, Western Illinois and Western Kentucky also extended scholarship offers to Graham. Boston College and Illinois were among the others showing interest.
