Nebraska-Michigan recruiting wrap

October, 29, 2012
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the start of its NCAA-record sellout streak by defeating Michigan 23-9 Saturday night before a significant group of recruits, including ESPN 150 members Demore’ea Stringfellow (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde), a Washington-committed receiver, and safety Priest Willis (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos de Niza).

The Huskers, though, lost a pledge over the weekend from defensive tackle Christian LaCouture, who moved with his family from Texas to attend high school at Lincoln Southwest and plans to graduate in December. LaCouture said he plans to visit LSU this weekend.

Nebraska quarterback commit Johnny Stanton (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Santa Margarita Catholic) drew plenty of attention at Memorial Stadium. Stanton spent much of his visit with LaCouture’s high school teammate, linebacker Josh Banderas, another NU commit.
