Kansas gets on the board for 2013
Junior tight end Ben Johnson (Basehor, Kan./Basehor-Linwood) has become the first Class of 2013 commitment for Kansas, Rivals.com reports.
Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect, received his scholarship offer from the Jayhawks on Wednesday. Iowa State and Kansas State were among the other schools showing early interest.
He caught 56 passes for 954 yards (17 average) and 12 touchdowns last fall. On defense, Johnson registered 57 total tackles, two sacks, four passes defended and one forced fumble. He also contributed on special teams averaging 37.6 yards per punt.
