Badgers land sixth in-state commitment
By Jared Shanker
Wisconsin had offered the “Super Six” prospects in the state of Wisconsin months ago.
Dominic Cizauskas was told he was No. 7. He had to show the Badgers' coaches a little more in order to land an offer.
He did that at a camp on Tuesday, and he wasted little time, committing to the in-state Badgers on Wednesday.
“I’ve been working toward this for five months, and it’s been a dream come true,” he said. “Now it’s a no-brainer to accept it.”
The seventh commitment and sixth in-state pledge, Cizauskas said the Badgers are getting a linebacker with a unique skill set.
“I’m 250 pounds, fast, comes downhill but can cover a wide receiver on the outside or in the middle and I’m very physical,” he said. “They like how explosive I am as a player. They said they can see my change of direction on film but couldn’t see that I’m 250 pounds and can run a 4.6.”
FBS programs Minnesota, Ball State and Northern Illinois also offered Cizauskas, but none could match the opportunity of playing in front of his family and home state.
“It means everything,” he said. “My aunt and uncles are so proud and can’t wait to watch me on Saturday.”
