2015 OT talks Big 12 offers
By Damon Sayles
Conner Dyer (Mesquite, Texas/Horn) is hoping the events of this week makes for a pleasant trend.
On Monday, the 2015 offensive tackle was without an offer. On Tuesday, Dyer landed his first offer from TCU. On Wednesday, Dyer scored his second offer from Texas Tech.
Will Thursday follow suit with Dyer’s third offer? Or third and a fourth? Or something along those lines?
“If it happens, it’ll be a blessing, no doubt,” said Dyer, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman.
Dyer is still trying to take in the two offers he picked up this week. At the start of the week, Dyer was wondering which school would be the first to take a chance on him. When TCU stepped to the plate, he was overwhelmed with happiness. When Texas Tech followed, he was speechless.
“I was surprised by TCU,” he said, “but to get two in a row, that blew me away. It was amazing. It’s very nice to see some reward for my hard work.”
TCU co-offensive coordinator Rusty Burns and Texas Tech safeties coach Trey Haverty are Dyer’s contacts. Dyer added that he’s also receiving interest from Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor. He’s attended a sophomore day at Texas and has made an unofficial visit to Oklahoma.
Dyer said he’s taking his time with everything and will make a decision when he feels the time is right.
“I would like to visit Tech and TCU first,” Dyer said. “I’d also like to go Oklahoma and UT again.”
