Cards offer another from the Indy area
By Jared Shanker
Louisville is again looking to the Hoosier State for its recruiting targets.
Cameron Polk (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound receiver from the Indianapolis area, spoke with Louisville assistant Vance Bedford on Tuesday, and Bedford offered at the end of the call.
“He said that he had spoken with the offensive coordinator and the wide receivers coach,” Polk said. “They sat and watched the film and liked what they saw.”
Indianapolis is a major area of emphasis for the Cardinals coaches. The staff recruits Indianapolis heavily and has pulled a few recruits from the area in the last few classes.
Polk visited Louisville several times during the season, and Polk has nothing but positive things to say about the Cardinals.
“The campus, the environment, the people are all so positive and fun to be around,” Polk said. “Also, the coaching staff is real friendly and they have a good program.”
The most recent for Polk went to Purdue, though, and came this past weekend. The new coaches at Purdue are keeping a close eye on Polk. The Boilermakers’ first junior day under new coach Darrell Hazell was reserved for some of Purdue’s top targets, Polk included among them.
“It went really well. I like the new staff and the program they’re putting together,” he said. “It could turn out really great.”
