WR Lammons gets 'dream' offer
By Corey Dowlar
Junior wide receiver Chris Lammons (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Plantation) could only envision himself playing football in college at one school.
And now he will have the opportunity to do just that.
The Miami Hurricanes told the 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect that he has an offer if he wants to take it.
"Yeah, man, that is the best feeling in the world," he said.
"Growing up, that was the only team I really wanted. I have always wanted to play for Miami, so it was a dream to get that offer."
Given his desire to play in the orange and green of the Hurricanes for so long, Lammons had to decide if he was going to jump at the chance immediately and commit or not. Instead, he's going to take a wait-and-see approach.
There are a lot of places he'd like to visit and some other offers he'd like to receive first, but the Hurricanes, he says, are still No. 1.
"The only thing that is keeping me from committing right now is that my recruiting process is just starting," said Lammons. "I haven't really experienced anything yet. I want to see how everything will work out, but Miami would be at the top of my list, no doubt."
If Lammons could get any other offer at any point during the process, he said he'd like it to be from Ohio State. He also has offers from Indiana and Ole Miss.
Defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio was the Miami assistant that presented him with the scholarship offer.
