ESPN 300 RB Wilkins to Ole Miss
According to multiple sources, the Rebels landed four-star running back Jordan Wilkins (Cordova, Tenn./St. Benedict) Saturday night. He took an official visit to Ole Miss for the weekend of Jan. 18th.
Wilkins, who originally committed to Auburn, also has scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Memphis, Michigan, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt (Jan. 25th official visit) and Wisconsin.
He's the third ESPN 300 RB to select Ole Miss for 2013, joining Kailo Moore (Rosedale, Miss./West Bolivar) and Mark Dodson Jr. (Memphis, Tenn/Whitehaven). Two other four-star ball-carriers, Peyton Barber (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) and Eugene Brazley (New Orleans/G.W. Carver) are also on board, forming one of 2013's best hauls at the position.
ESPN calls Wilkins, "a load back with a very good blend of size, speed and sharp cutback ability... will need to continue being conscious of his body lean, but overall Wilkins is a very solid running back prospect without a lot of holes in his game. His style and size translates well to the college level."
He is commitment No. 24 for the Rebels, who currently hold the nation's 13th best recruiting class.
