Silas Spearman accepts offer from FIU
By RecruitingNation
Running back Silas Spearman (Loxahatchee, Fla./Seminole Ridge) received his first FBS offer this week from Florida International and committed to the Golden Panthers Friday, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Spearman was being recruited by Boston College, where he took an official visit on Jan. 18, and South Florida, but the Eagles and Bulls were waiting on other running backs rated higher on their boards. FCS programs Alcorn State, Southeast Missouri State and Texas Southern had offered.
His recruitment picked up following an impressive 1,258-yard, 11-touchdown senior season which earned him a first team all-county selection.
The 5-foot-9, 190-pound prospect is commitment No. 16 for Florida International.
