Bassett accepts offer from Oklahoma State
Dawson Bassett (Tuttle, Okla./Tuttle) is set to follow in the footsteps his older brother, former Oklahoma State defensive end Cooper Bassett, after committing to Mike Gundy's Cowboys, the Tulsa World reports.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior, who received his Oklahoma State offer Wednesday, made an official visit to Missouri last weekend and was holding a scholarship from Central Oklahoma.
"They want me as an athlete right now," he told The World. "I'm probably going to redshirt. We're going to see how my body develops and matures, but they talked about me being an outside linebacker or playing as a bigger type of receiver and, if I get to my brother's size, I may stick my hand on the ground and become a defensive lineman. There are a lot of possibilities."
Bassett's spot may have opened up following the recent decommitment of three-star defensive end Tyus Bowser (Tyler, Texas/John Tyler).
Oklahoma State has 22 pledges for its 2013 class, which is currently ranked No. 26 in the nation by ESPN.
