FSU, Miami battling in new territory
By Jared Shanker
It is not a surprise to see Florida State and Miami (Fla) battling it out as the final two for a college prospect.
It is a little unusual when that player is a football player from New York City.
Three-star running back Augustus Edwards (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) decommitted from Syracuse on Thursday and named the Seminoles and Hurricanes as his new finalists.
"I'm now considering only FSU and Miami," he said in a text message.
He officially visited Florida State the weekend of Jan. 18 and will visit Miami beginning Friday.
Both programs are "even," Edwards said.
