Elliott mum on OSU commitment
By Brad Bournival
Ohio State fans will have to wait until national signing day to see if they have their ESPN 150 running back in the fold.
Ezekiel Elliott (St. Louis/John Burroughs) has been a commitment to the Buckeyes since April 1, but took an official visit to Missouri over the weekend.
Both his father and mother starred at Missouri so it was thought to be just a visit of relaxation.
The 6-foot, 205-pound Elliott even said so in an ESPN.com article leading up to the trip with the Tigers.
On Tuesday night, Elliott tweeted “I will not be doing any interviews until Feb 6th on signing day.”
He further tweeted, “My signing ceremony is at my school at 3 p.m. [4 p.m. ET]. Everyone come out.”
Since his visit to Missouri, Elliott has not discussed his commitment to the Buckeyes.
Ohio State assistant coaches Stan Drayton and Tom Herman came by Monday to talk to Elliott. Missouri is expected to make an in-home visit as well this week.
As a senior, Elliott amassed 2,533 total yards of offense and scored 50 touchdowns.
He finished his 100-touchdown high school career with 3,022 all-purpose yards as a senior and backed up a junior campaign where he scored 42 touchdowns with 50 scores this season.
Elliott is ranked 109th and is the 11th-best running back in the nation according to ESPN.
