Damian Williams now set for the SEC

By RecruitingNation

Earlier this month, three-star dual-threat quarterback Damian Williams (Metaire, La./Rummel) committed to Southern Miss following an official visit.  Sunday, Williams switched his pledge to Mississippi State on the heels of an official with the Bulldogs, multiple sources report.

Florida International, Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis, Nebraska and Tulane are his other scholarship offers.  Florida Atlantic, Kent State and Utah State also recruited the 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior.

Williams threw for 1,900 yards and 18 touchdowns and rushed for 874 yards and 10 more scores as a senior.

According to the Jackson Clarion Ledger, Mississippi State has been looking to pick up another quarterback because ESPN 300 verbal Cord Sandberg (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee), a Major League Baseball draft prospect, might choose the diamond over the gridiron.  The Bulldogs also recently offered Under Armour All-American QB Zack Greenlee (Stockton, Calif./Lincoln) and hosted the ESPN 150 talent on an official visit this weekend.

The news wasn't all good for MSU on Sunday, as four-star offensive guard Deon Mix (Batesville, Miss./South Panola), a pledge since June, decommitted.

Mississippi State has a 23 players in its 2013 class, including mid-year additions.
