Wake Forest gains a scatback
By RecruitingNation
Five-foot-7, 161-pound running back John Armstrong (Orlando/Olympia) pledged Sunday to suit up for the Demon Deacons, multiple sources report. He spent the weekend on an official visit to campus.
Despite his small stature, Armstrong collected several scholarship offers during the process, including Buffalo, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Illinois, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, South Alabama and Temple.
He was highly-productive over the last two seasons, rushing for 2,000 yards, catching 90 passes for 1,000 yards, and scoring 41 total touchdowns.
ESPN described Armstrong's versatile skill set in his scouting report: "Armstrong is an exciting, under sized all-purpose back with the running and receiving skills needed to take the ball to the house."
Wake Forest now has 21 verbals for 2013.
