By RecruitingNation
Senior outside linebacker Leon Jacobs (Santa Clarita, Calif./Golden Valley) committed Saturday to play for Wisconsin, multiple sources report. Jacobs, the second verbal for new head coach Gary Andersen, was in Madison, Wis. this weekend for an official visits.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect also took visits to James Madison (Nov. 16th), San Diego State (Dec. 7th), Fresno State (Dec. 14th) and Wake Forest (Jan.18th). Jacobs, who originally picked Fresno State in December before opening up, ultimately chose the Badgers over Wake Forest. Air Force, Cornell, Idaho, Lehigh, Montana, Navy and Nevada were his other offers.
Jacobs previously concentrated on basketball. His only experience on the gridiron came as a freshman and then again as a senior. This fall, he rushed for 847 yards and 5 touchdowns and registered 19 tackles and 3 sacks on defense.
Wisconsin has 19 commitments for 2013.
