Decision time for 3-star RB Robert Davis
By Corey Long
After his trip to Memphis this past weekend, three-star running back Robert Davis (Tampa, Fla./Carrollwood Day) has taken official visits to his top three programs. Is the 5-foot-8, 175-pound senior ready to decide?
Davis said his trip to Memphis was even better than he expected.
“The campus was really beautiful and it’s a great location around the city,” Davis said. “I was really impressed with the city of Memphis.
“I thought the players that I met and the coaching staff was terrific. They really made me feel like I was home and part of their family.”
Hillsborough County’s leading rusher said that Cincinnati, South Florida and Memphis are his top three programs. He committed to Cincinnati last fall but backed away in December.
Davis said the second decision will be tougher.
“I see the benefits of playing in each program,” Davis added. “The Memphis coaches told me about how they would utilize me in several different ways.
“Cincinnati has coach Eddie Gran there now and he’s one of the best in college football. And South Florida is going to do big things with coach [Willie] Taggart and the new staff. Plus it’s the home school.”
