Big week on the trail for Army
By RecruitingNation
According to several reports, the Black Knights recently picked up at least four pledges for 2013 including Jason Nix (Kansas City/Rockhurst), John Voit (Willwood, Mo./Lafayette), Richie Smith (Lansford, Pa./Panther Valley) and Lee Davis (Terre Haute, Ind./North Vigo).
Nix is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound defensive end who performed well on the Nike combine circuit this spring posting an electronically timed 4.70 40-yard dash, 4.61 20-yard shuttle, 33.4-inch vertical and 87.03 SPARQ. He claims interest from Arkansas, Clemson, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Northern Illinois but didn't receive an offer from any of those schools. Rivals.com broke the news of Nix's verbal.
Joining Nix along the defensive front is Voit, another defensive end of similar size at 6-3, 220 pounds. Voit, whose decision was reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, terrorized opponents this fall to the tune of 108 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 8 sacks.
Richie Smith is a 6-0, 215-pound ball-carrier headed for the Black Knight backfield. He was also recruited by Colgate.
Davis, a 6-1, 230-pound linebacker, made his decision last week. According to HudsonValley.com, he's a top thrower whose also expected to compete for Army's track team.
Additionally, Rivals.com lists linebacker in Daniel Carlone (Jersey City, N.J./St. Anthony's) as an Army commitment. His decision has not been confirmed by multiple sources.
