Louisville announces January enrollees
Coach Charlie Strong and the Cardinals have added three midyear signees, according to a release issued by the school's official website. The group includes quarterback Brett Nelson (La Canada, Calif./Southwestern CC), cornerback Willie Bailey (Hallandale, Fla./Hallandale) and defensive lineman Finesse' Middleton (Gadsden, Ala./Gadsden).
Nelson, a three-star prospect and a product of La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis High School, threw for 4,472 yards and 34 touchdowns, with 17 interceptions, during two seasons at Southwestern CC.
Bailey originally signed with Florida's Class of 2012 and redshirted this past season. ESPN rated him as a three-star prospect and the nation's 24th best CB out of Hallandale (Fla.) High School.
The highly productive Middleton registered 63 tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as a senior. During his junior year, the three-star talent posted 45 tackles and 10 sacks. Middleton originally committed to Ole Miss last July but reopened his recruitment in December.
Louisville has 11 verbal commitments for 2013 on top of its three early signees.
